These wedges are the best.
waiting for the sky to open up and rain
a rare moment of calm hair
crazy hair, don’t care
thankful that I skipped the lipgloss
the wine glasses from our registry
arm party of three?
This dress feels super Stevie Nicks to me.
his and hers
wind and wine
Two weekends ago, the fiance and I headed up to the roof deck to watch the Kentucky Derby and enjoy a bottle of wine. (Our building has quite the swanky roof, with the outdoor television and furniture set-up.) While the weather was mild on the ground, the wind was in full effect ten floors up.
I initially met this dress in Anthropologie back in January. Even though we had a temperate winter, I could not fathom shopping for spring at the time of our acquaintance. However weeks later, I just could not forget about it, or the lovely dress that I wrote about last week. By the beginning of April, both dresses were marked down and thus, found a home in my closet.
Ever since Kate Middleton started sporting them, I have been on the hunt for a pair of navy blue wedges. The ones I frequently see her in have a cork wedge, and I suspect that they are this style.
I was not ready to take the plunge on such a pricey shoe, having never tried them on. Instead I went with an espadrille wedge with a little less aggressive height. They fit true to size and an overall great choice.
I have already expressed my love for Krewe du Optic eyewear. I last wore this pair on an unseasonably warm Sunday in February. I love the blue polarized lenses against the tortoise frames and 24 karat gold arms. I’m obsessed about this particular pair in this particular colorway until they eventually disappeared from the online store. And then I obsessed about them even more, until I eventually called the brick-and-mortar location and asked if there were any left. There was indeed a pair left, and they were my Valentine’s Day gift.

RIP Lauren Merkin
I told you the outer layer fell away from the body.
This was the perfect respite from the beating sun.
Speak no evil.

This dress is a winner.
My fiance was obsessed with this brick wall.
brunching at La Peg
A few weeks ago, for Easter, the fiance and I shared brunch at La Peg and spent the day walking around the city. Little did we know that the temperatures would rise rather unexpectedly to the upper 80s.
Lucky for me, I selected a swingy dress style that morning. The outer layer of the dress fell away from the body while the slip layer clung a bit closer, which allowed me to remain ventilated without risking inappropriate exposure. After walking a few miles through Society Hill, the fiance and I had to take a pit stop at Ela for some air conditioning, drinks, and ice waters.
Let’s talk about these amazing sunglasses, shall we? Krewe du Optic is a New Orleans-based sunglasses and eyeglasses line. Each pair is handmade and feature materials such as yellow gold and rose gold. I grew up on the Gulf Coast, and as such, I love to support local artists. Truth be told, however, I would be as obsessed with these sunglasses if I were from Anchorage, Minneapolis, Baltimore, or Madrid.
